Asia Pacific Conference 2018

We are so excited to give you a second sneak peak at some of our speakers and action packed annual conference program that has been carefully organised for the upcoming 25th anniversary of Golden Key Asia Pacific in 2018. These speakers have been selected to bring their experience, expertise to us all and to inspire our members towards better service, leadership and academic success.  Just register now for our early bird special

Keynote Speaker  Holly Ransom

Holly Ransom is an experienced non-executive director across the private, government and non-for-profit sectors, in a statutory and advisory board capacity. In 2014, the Australian Prime Minister appointed Holly to Chair the G20 Youth Summit, resulting in the first summit to secure its policy demands from G20 leaders. In 2016, Holly became the youngest ever woman appointed to the board of an AFL football club with her appointment as a Director of Port Adelaide Football Club and was also asked by the AFL to serve on their advisory Board for the launch of the AFL Women’s League. 

Holly holds a Law degree and BA (Economics). In 2012, she was the youngest person to be named in Australia’s ‘100 Most Influential Women’, and also became the world’s youngest ever Rotary President. Her work with Rotary has played a key role in the global efforts to lift youth participation in the organisation, more than doubling engagement. Holly will join us at the Asia Pacific Conference to talk about United Nations sustainable development Goal 9 "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure"

Simon Dorries

Simon Dorries is the Chief Executive Officer of Australian Forestry Standard Limited / PEFC Australia. PEFC is the world's largest sustainable forestry certification program that ensures responsible practices around the world. Simon brings with him over thirty years of experience in the industry and is a proud advocate for ethical standards and certified practices. Simon will join us at the Asia Pacific Conference to talk about United Nations sustainable development Goal 15 “Life on Land

Run a workshop 

Would you or a member you know like to run a workshop at the Golden Key Asia-Pacific Conference 2018?

At Golden Key, we are surrounded by the best and the brightest students and alumni that universities around the world have to offer. At our conferences and summits, we want to celebrate this, by giving you the chance to run a workshop. At our Asia-Pacific Conference, while celebrating 25 years in the region we will be doing the same!

Workshops in the space of Personal and Professional Development or Chapter and Advisor Specific with a focus towards the United Nations - Sustainable Development Goals will be looked upon highly. Although any workshop that fits within our three pillars, Leadership, Academics and Service, our Golden Key Mission or Activities will be accepted and we will be glad to have you on board.

To show your interest, in presenting a workshop on Day Two of the Conference ( Friday 9th of Feb, 2018 ) please email workshop@goldenkey.org.au by the 8th of December, 2017.

Join the Steering Committee

Do you want to be part of a special Golden Key Conference Project working with other enthusiastic Golden Key members? The Steering Committee will be made up of Golden Key members located in Victoria and will work closely with Sunnefa Penning (URO SAW) on a secret conference project. This opportunity is open to members that are enthusiastic about making the 25th Anniversary Conference extra special and are committed to contributing in a meaningful way.

This is a great opportunity to get some hands on experience in the areas of communication, event planning, creative problem solving, team work and have heaps of fun. All members of the Steering Committee will be awarded a Volunteer Appreciation Certificate for their work and a free access to all workshops, plenary sessions and the Friday night social event (Gala Award Dinner not included).

Golden Key Upcoming Elections

Council of Student Members - These members represent all the student leaders in their region. They are tasked with advising Golden Key headquarters and working in a team of eleven CoSM student leaders from around the globe. These are one year terms and would start on June 1, 2018.

International Leadership Council Student Member - There is one position for a student to join the ILC. This individual will chair the Council of Student Members and be a voting member of the Golden Key Board of Directors. This is a one year term and would start on June 1, 2018.
