1. A look back to the 2017 Asia-Pacific Conference.

posted May 8, 2017, 11:26 PM by Jack Thomson

Passion, Purpose and Persistence.

Three words that I am sure still echo in the minds of all 106 delegates lucky enough to attend this year’s Asia-Pacific Conference in Sydney at the beginning of February.

A truly inspiring line up of keynote speakers, from Paralympian and Disability Advocate Dylan Alcott to Shivani Gupta an Australian Passion Expert. Along with Gordan Zielstra and Jeremy Donovan created a platform for discussions to start among the Golden Key members. We also had the NSW Corporate Volunteer of the Year Chris Bond and the NSW Australian of the year Deng Adut on the guest panels. Both were awarded Honorary membership and donations to their charity of choice.

Aside from the networking opportunities, a range of workshops  allowed members to update the other chapters in the region on initiatives underway. Delegates, members and advisors alike took a lot for this year’s Asia-Pacific Conference.

If you want to find out more about the conference, please enjoy this Blog by Western Sydney University’s Academic Engagement Officer, Zena or a recount by Nathan, Chapter President and Head of the Victorian Alliance.

We would like to thank everyone involved, our host the Australian Catholic University, our major Sponsor Australian Catholic Insurance and everyone involved in making the conference so great.

Where are they now?

Many of our undergraduate  students look for opportunities to become involved in work placements, internships and projects as part of their degree, giving them the chance to learn and develop key skills that will be valuable in their chosen career.  The Where Are They Now? is new to Golden Key APAC in the aim to add real value to this experience.  It was launched primarily to support the Golden key alumni links to Industry, mentorships, job boards and gives  new members the chance at International Internships. Please stay tuned to our initiatives site for more updates.
